For a basic home shop, to make table and cabinets, do I need a full table saw or will a portable do?

I say full and for the kind of mony that you will spend on a DeWalt, you are better off and will be happier with a Delta or a Jet

i have a jet contractor model, and a rigid benchtop with a colapsable stand.......i actually fint that the rigid is better for the fact that there arent vibration issues, and that I can get better power out of the rigid with 120 power. the jet is nice because of the table. but the power is a severe issue due to the fact that it boggs down hella under 120, and must be kept at 220 to be usefull at all, also it vibrated signifigantly. i would step up to a cabinet saw...grizzly makes a nice one for not too much money if i were going to go for a stationary saw...and yes, contractor model saws might as well be stationary....but the dewalt or rigid or bosch benchtop models are really nice............
