dust collector venting to pasture

I'm hoping to start construction on barn/workshop soon (waiting for permit hassles).

Starting to think about infrastucture inside the workshop, including dust collection.
I'd like to plumb in some dust collection, and was thinking about just sucking the dust and then blowing it outside the workshop into the pasture, rather than dealing with all the dust collection and filtering systems. Is this something reasonable to do, and how would I go about finding just the correct blower assembly, rather than a full dust collection and filtering system.

Not a good idea, I'd think.

First, it's going to create a lot of dust on your lawn outside of the workshop and probably annoy people, especially if they are walking around where it exhausts.

There's also the possibility that it will just be sucked back into your workshop.

It also is a fire hazard. Remember, finely divided wood, metal, flour, or most other things will be quite willing to form a fireball. Granted, it's not in a confined space, but it's still not the greatest of ideas.

Unfortunately, this is one of those things where the "right" way to do things is the best way to go.

You are thinking suburban workshop in a garage. Think venting into 2-3 acres of pasture, nearest house 150-200 feet away, nearest neighbor 500 feet away. The "lawn" is pasture, rough mowed with tractor mowing deck. I figure saves me the trouble to spread it as mulch in the pasture. its mostly organics that will rot and improve the soil.

I might look into a cyclone setup, at least to filter out any large pieces so they don't get scatteredk and then kicked up by the mowing deck, but worrying about trapping the "fines" seems less of a concern.
I would of course not have the vent near a door, to avoid sucking back into the shop, that is a good point.

      thanks

I suppose that would be a fine idea, as long as you are only using untreated lumber. I wouldn't imagine that you'd want to dump all that arsenic, etc. on your lawn.

howabout venting to outside, but instead of blowing it into the gread outdoors you fashion some kind of hopper out of something (plywood box, old grain silo?)and then you can spread the stuff out with a plow attachment on your truck?.........
